About

Hi welcome to The Ruby Supper Club. It’s a pop up supper club that I’ve created to enable people to enjoy what I love doing and that’s making delicious food!

I named The Ruby Supper Club not only after the infamous ‘Ruby Murray’ (rhyming slang for curry), but also Ruby was the name of my great grandmother.  After all, her recipes have been passed down for years.  So, I thought it only fitting that this supper club should be named after her.

“The Ruby Supper Club is a hardcore fusion of my heritage on a plate.”

Each venue where The Ruby Supper Club serves has it’s own vibe and menu.

Born in Hampstead London from Anglo Indian parents, I would go to my nan’s house every Sunday for dinner.  We would have Biryani with roast chicken, roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese! …. yes all on the same plate!

This for me is the epitome of my Anglo-Indian heritage.

If you’re wondering what an Anglo-Indian is, it dates back to the British Raj, when British men in India married Indian women, the children were known as Anglo Indian it’s a mix of British, Indian (north and south) and in my case French Portuguese and European.  So, as you can imagine, the food in our house was and is, pretty varied!

My husband Luke is the equivalent of a full English Breakfast and it wasn’t hard to convert him.

I love cooking and drawing from all the flavours I have inherited across the globe adding a bit of spice here and there.  Turning lots of my English favourites into something with an Indian undertone.

Much love Jo x
